PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
I am Dr. Mia Luke, honored to assume the role of principal at Blakeney Elementary School. As a lifelong member of this community and a graduate of Burke County Public Schools, I am deeply committed to serving both the students and staff with dedication and integrity. My educational career spans numerous roles within Burke County, beginning as a special education teacher at Burke County Middle School for 12 years. I subsequently served as assistant principal at Waynesboro Primary School, followed by a return to Burke County Middle School in the same capacity. Most recently, I held the position of Student Support Coordinator for the Burke County Board of Education, where my focus areas included Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and Section 504 compliance under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Drawing from this breadth of experience, I am committed to fostering innovation and excellence at Blakeney Elementary. My vision for the school is to maintain a safe and professional learning environment while advancing instructional practices that deliver measurable, positive outcomes. This academic year’s theme, #NewFace, NewPlace, NewGrace, reflects the exciting transitions we embark upon together. It is my goal to positively sustain effective strategies and promptly address areas requiring improvement. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with our community to cultivate a school environment distinguished by success, support, and shared pride.
Dr. Mia Luke
Principal

Both new student registration and annual returning student updates may be completed online. The online returning student annual verification process replaces all of the paper forms that have traditionally been sent home at the beginning of each school year and ensures the information is updated in a more timely manner.
