Hello! My name is Danielle McKenzie. I am very excited to be teaching you this year! This is my 17th year teaching and most of my experience is in the third grade. My teammate is Ms. Hill. I teach math and Ms. Hill teaches ELA. I grew up in Augusta, but my husband and I moved to Burke County and built a home in 2018. We have one BIG dog, 4 barn cats, 4 chickens and 22 ducks that keep us laughing.  I discovered my passion for teaching when I was a swim lessons instructor. I also thoroughly enjoyed coaching a summer league swim team for many years. My love for children steered my college career. I attended Augusta State University where I graduated with a bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I continued my education by earning a Gifted and Talented endorsement and an English as a Second Language endorsement. Over time, I have found that I learn the most from getting to know my students! They continue to inspire me to be better. I am looking forward to a fabulous year!
