Visual Arts
My name is Mrs. Marsh and I am the visual arts teacher at Blakeney Elementary School. I teach every student at Blakeney and I love fostering the creative skills of our students.
Behavior in the Art Room is very important, especially when an average of 700 students comes through the classroom every week.
Art class has 5 behavior expectations:
1. Keep the room calm and quiet.
2. The floor is lava! Stay in your assigned seat.
3. Always clean up after yourself.
4. Safe behaviors are required.
5. Respect all people and everything here.
Like Picasso said, "Every child is an artist." We have very talented students here at Blakeney. I understand that every student has their own unique skills and abilities. As long as students try their personal best with art class projects, they will do well.
The art room has a wish list of items to help keep our students creating their masterpieces. Donations are greatly appreciated because they help give our students supplies to express themselves positively and experiment creatively. If you would like to contribute to our creative cause, please call the front office to let them know you would like to come drop items off. Please leave your name and contact information with the donated items so we can send you a thank you.
The items we always need are:
- washable markers
- permanent markers
- pink cap erasers
- color pencils
- black and white construction paper
- drawing paper
- mixed media paper
- watercolor paper
- painter's tape
- clear scotch tape
- glue sticks
- manual pencil sharpeners
- graph paper
- card stock (any color)

I look forward to making some awesome art again this year!
