MTSS Reading Intervention

Hello and welcome to my MTSS Reading Intervention page! My name is Ms. Jenkins, and I provide Tier 3 reading intervention for 4th and 5th grade students at Blakeney Elementary.

My goal is to partner with families to help every child grow as a confident reader.

Supply List

Students only need a few items for reading intervention:

  • Black fine-tip EXPO markers

  • Ticonderoga pencils

Please make sure supplies are labeled with your child’s name.

About Me & Teaching Philosophy

I have been teaching for 8 years. Teaching is my second career. Working with struggling readers is my passion because I believe that every child can learn to read with the right tools, support, and encouragement.

In my classroom, I create a positive and structured environment where students feel safe to try, make mistakes, and celebrate their progress. My goal is to meet students where they are and help them grow step by step, turning small successes into lasting confidence.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy photography, reading, traveling to new places, and spending time with family and friends. These hobbies help me recharge and bring creativity and joy into my teaching.

Favorite Saying in Our Room: “I can read, and I will.”

Best Time to Contact Me: During my daily planning periods (exact times will be shared soon). Email is the best way to reach me, and I respond within 24 hours.

Class Schedule

Our small group schedule will be shared as soon as it is finalized. Students will meet with me in short, focused sessions multiple times each week for targeted reading support.

Classroom Expectations

We follow Blakeney Elementary’s PBIS expectations:

  • Be Respectful – Listen and follow directions

  • Be Responsible – Come prepared and try your best

  • Be Ready to Learn – Stay focused and engaged

Students are recognized daily for positive behaviors and effort.
