ARE YOU USING ALL OF THE COLORS FOR GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS?
I am Mrs. Leslie, the speech/language therapist of Blakeney Elementary. With this being my 2nd year in Burke County Schools, I am grateful and very excited about working here where I can provide appropriate speech and language therapy services to those students who have been found eligible with a speech or language impairment/disorder. Having been a speech - language pathologist for over 32 years in both rehabilitative/nursing home settings, I truly believe this passion for my career has been such a blessing as I truly enjoy working with many of my administrators, faculty and staff as we work together towards enhancing each student's academic performance. As a graduate of South Carolina State University, I received my Bachelor and Master of Arts in Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology. Currently, I am working towards my ED.S in Special Education Leadership. I have been a resident of Augusta/Hephzibah Georgia area for 26 years.
I am married to Rev. Christopher Leslie and have two daughters - Christina, 23 and Delecia, 30. We are the proud grandparents of three grandsons: ages, 12, 10, and 9 and one granddaughter ("Diva"), 8. Instead of calling me grandma, I am known as "GG". I enjoy helping people, collaborating in my community and church to help make the CSRA and country a better place of unification. Writing and singing are also my interest as well as spoiling my at home service dog - "Trenton", who is the cutest Morkie.
Please remember to work with your son or daughter with their speech and/or language goals and objectives in order to retain and maintain those communication skills, which will further enhance their expression in oral and written skills. I am available at the school on Mondays-Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Look forward to working with you and your son/daughter.
